Painting Easter Lilies

Yesterday I gave my first Painting Party.
It was held in my church and 6 ladies were in attendance.

It was a really nice time and I think I did pretty well for the first time.

Here are three things I learned from my first painting party:

1.It takes longer to set up in an hour. I need to give myself 2 hours for set up time. I only gave myself an hour yesterday and I was still setting up with the ladies began to arrive. I was still setting up and ALL of the ladies had arrived.

2. Two hours is too long. In the future I’ll set the parties for one and a half hours.  There wasn’t much lag time during the painting but we finished earlier than I’d hoped. But there were snacks and after they were done painting the dug into the salty and sweet snacks.

3. I think the picture I selected was a little too simple. It was lovely but I think something a little more challenging might be a good thing.

​Everyone seemed to have a good time and each person put their own spin on the white lilies we painted.

​I know that I can do more parties, which was really why I offered this one. I wanted to see if I thought doing more would be a good idea.

It was and I will!
