In the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of San Fruttuoso, Italy, there's an statue called, " Christ of the Abyss. And it really is underwater and the edge of a great underwater abyss.
The first time I saw a photo of the statue I thought he needed some angels. So that 's what I painted! The original is an oil painting.
